Objectives

- For students to develop an awareness of air pollution.
- Students should be able to identify some types of air
pollution.
- Students should be able to understand that both man-made and
naturally-caused air pollution exist.
- Students should be able to identify some causes of air pollution.
- Students should be able to suggest some solutions to the problem.

| Activities |
- Field trip to congested area for observation and, later, discussion.
- To build a working model of a volcanoe to demonstrate naturally-caused
pollution.
- To learn about where our garbage goes.
- To read and listen to stories about natural and man-made pollution-causing
events such as volcanic eruptions, natural forest fires and purposefully-set
fires (for agriculture, etc.).
