It's an old story. A school buys computers and locks them down for bonified security reasons and has a session or two showing teachers how to use them and that's it. Zip zap. Ah, but for some reason, people don't take advantage of the computers as much as they should and their use isn't really integrated into the students' learning. Yet.

You need training, but training takes time -- one thing of which schools never have enough. New programs, including technology programs are not going to succeed without being given attention and time to make them grow. Training and planning are essential to successful tech programs. Especially in schools. We ignore this truth at our peril.
